From the Department of Public Safety: AUSTIN, TX - The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Texas Ranger Unsolved Crimes Investigation Team are asking for the public's help in solving the murder of Hailey Dunn, 13, of Colorado City. Among the Top 12 is the case of Cortney Clayton, a 7-year-old student at Oliver Elementary School in Stamford (Jones County) whose murder has been unsolved since 1988. As part of a DPS public awareness program, one case from the Texas Ranger Unsolved Crimes Investigation (Cold Case) Program will be featured bi-monthly in an effort to generate new investigative leads and bring attention to these cold cases. The cases that are featured in the Top 12 will be changed periodically. The Cold Case website was created with those efforts in mind, to assist such cases in establishing further investigative leads.
